Hunting licences available from today as season opens October 1

Hunters can begin purchasing State Game Licences from today ahead of the 2026-2027 hunting season, which opens on October 1.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries said the season will run until February 28, 2027, after which hunting of the listed game species will be prohibited during March.

Each State Game Licence costs $100 per game species, with a maximum of three licences allowed per hunter.
