Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander has apologised to the public for the current lengthy delays in obtaining passports, including concerns over appointments being scheduled as far ahead as mid-2027.
However, he yesterday assured citizens that “all will be well” as the Government moves towards introducing an electronic passport system early next year.

Alexander said the country was undergoing a period of transition and modernisation, which would inevitably result in some inconvenience, but insisted that efforts were underway to improve the efficiency of the Immigration Division and simplify the passport application process.
