Health MinÂisÂter Dr LackÂram BoÂdoe has conÂfirmed that the GovÂernÂment is movÂing ahead with plans to open the CouÂva ChilÂdren’s HosÂpiÂtal and may reÂcruit forÂeign nursÂes if needÂed.
He said the faÂcilÂiÂty, equipped since 2015, will be comÂmisÂsioned in phasÂes, startÂing with staff reÂloÂcaÂtion and new reÂcruitÂment.
While hunÂdreds of docÂtors are curÂrentÂly unÂemÂployed, Dr BoÂdoe said adÂdiÂtionÂal nursÂes will be reÂquired, and once the loÂcal labour pool is deÂpletÂed, conÂsidÂerÂaÂtion will be givÂen to sourcÂing nursÂes inÂterÂnaÂtionÂalÂly.
