Government has appointed an investigative team to look into how 25,573 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition belonging to the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment went missing from the Cumuto Barracks.
The team will include military officers from Guyana and Jamaica.
At the Cabinet meeting in Port of Spain yesterday, National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds raised the matter of the allegation that 25,573 rounds of 5.56 ammunition had “disappeared” from the Cumuto Barracks of the Regiment, the ministry said in a release.
