Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, Ms. Penelope Bradshaw-Niles, attended the closing ceremony on behalf of the Honourable Phillip Watts, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, and delivered remarks. In her address, Ms. Bradshaw-Niles commended the athletes for their performances and their example to the nation.
“Over the past weeks, we have witnessed far more than competition; we have experienced the true meaning of courage, determination, and the unbreakable human spirit, Ms. Bradshaw-Niles said. Our athletes have shown that sport is not only about medals, but about perseverance, discipline, and the courage to rise above challenges, and in doing so they have inspired Trinidad and Tobago.”
