A 33-year-old businesswoman of Peters Hall, East Bank Demerara (EBD) was on Thursday relieved of over $7 million in items after she was held at gunpoint by three masked men who were armed with handguns. Police stated that on the day in question, at about 14:00h, the victim was at her business when she was confronted by the three men. One of the suspects reportedly held her at gunpoint and demanded money. She was later bound, after which she was relieved of three Samsung cellular phones, an Acer laptop computer, six Movado watches, a quantity of gold jewellery, $5 million in cash, and US$7,000 in cash.
The suspects then escaped in an older -model white Toyota Raum, bearing registration number PLL 1323. The CCTV cameras in the area were retrieved by police and are currently being reviewed.
