Home­land Se­cu­ri­ty Min­is­ter Roger Alexan­der says the Gov­ern­ment’s plan to es­tab­lish ad­di­tion­al po­lice posts across Trinidad and To­ba­go forms part of a broad­er an­ti-crime strat­e­gy aimed at in­creas­ing law en­force­ment vis­i­bil­i­ty and im­prov­ing pub­lic safe­ty.

Re­spond­ing to ques­tions from the me­dia in his Tu­na­puna con­stituen­cy yes­ter­day, Alexan­der said the ini­tia­tive is one of sev­er­al mea­sures be­ing im­ple­ment­ed to strength­en com­mu­ni­ties and main­tain re­cent gains in the fight against crime.

“As it re­lates to our an­ti-crime plan, this is one of the strate­gies that we’re about to use to give the pub­lic, give ar­eas, con­stituen­cies, high­ways and by­ways that sense of safe­ty and se­cu­ri­ty with the pres­ence and vis­i­bil­i­ty of law en­force­ment of­fi­cers any­where you go and in strate­gic lo­ca­tions just in case there is a sit­u­a­tion that aris­es,” Alexan­der said.
