Prime MinĀisĀter KamĀla PerĀsad-BissesĀsar has anĀnounced that the cerĀeĀmoĀniĀal openĀing of the new sesĀsion of ParĀliaĀment will take place on May 23. HowĀevĀer, she added yesĀterĀday that āthe first workĀing sitĀting will take place on a date to be fixed.ā
The anĀnounceĀment folĀlows the UnitĀed NaĀtionĀal ConĀgressā (UNC) 26-13 vicĀtoĀry over the PeoĀpleās NaĀtionĀal MoveĀment (PNM) in the April 28 GenĀerĀal ElecĀtion, which reĀturned PerĀsad-BissesĀsar to the helm of GovĀernĀment.
SpeakĀing with Guardian MeĀdia yesĀterĀday, the Prime MinĀisĀter conĀfirmed that the openĀing cerĀeĀmoĀny will feaĀture an adĀdress to a joint sitĀting of the House of RepĀreĀsenĀtaĀtives and the SenĀate by PresĀiĀdent ChrisĀtine KanĀgaĀloo.
