The St Catherine North Police Division is recording a significant decline in murders, with Senior Superintendent of Police Hopeton Nicholson describing the development as a sign of improved safety and security.
Nicholson, who heads the St Catherine North Division, said the area has recorded a 43 per cent reduction in murders, representing the lowest number of killings recorded since the division was established 30 years ago.
He was speaking on Sunday at the launch of the St John Heights Neighbourhood Watch, where he highlighted what he described as growing public confidence and improved security.
