The Ari­ma Bor­ough Cor­po­ra­tion says it will take steps to ad­dress se­cu­ri­ty at mu­nic­i­pal po­lice sta­tions fol­low­ing a meet­ing on Tues­day.

May­or of Ari­ma Al­der­man Bal­li­ram Ma­haraj ex­tend­ed con­do­lences to the fam­i­ly, friends and col­leagues of Act­ing Cor­po­ral Anusha Ever­s­ley, who was mur­dered on Sun­day morn­ing at the San Fer­nan­do Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice Sta­tion. He said the loss of life and the theft of arms and am­mu­ni­tion are mat­ters for na­tion­al at­ten­tion and called on cor­po­ra­tions to en­sure the safe­ty of of­fi­cers.

May­or Ma­haraj and Coun­cil­lor Dave Ma­haraj, Vice Chair­man of the Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice Com­mit­tee, met with the Se­nior En­gi­neer of the Ari­ma Bor­ough Cor­po­ra­tion and se­nior of­fi­cers of the Ari­ma Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice to re­view se­cu­ri­ty arrange­ments and pro­ce­dures at po­lice lo­ca­tions.
