Beenie Man, widely regarded as one of dancehall’s most influential figures, was recently awarded Jamaica’s Order of Distinction, recognising more than three decades of groundbreaking contributions to Jamaican music and culture.

The honour comes as the dancehall icon enjoys a major resurgence in the United States, highlighted by a sold-out headline performance at New York’s UBS Arena, along with appearances at Reggae in the Park Delaware, his own Summa Sizzle Fest and Florida’s 64th Jamaican Independence celebrations.

Snoop Dogg, meanwhile, continues to prove that his influence extends far beyond music.
