Minister Anil Roberts may have breached the Integrity in Public Life Act when, in seeking to “denigrate” Prime Minister of St Vincent Ralph Gonsalves and his family, he disclosed confidential information in respect of their ownership of three apartments at Victoria Keyes.
So said former housing minister Randall Mitchell, who was housing minister (2016-18) at the time when at least one of the apartments was purchased.
Roberts, in a vlog posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday, accused Gonsalves of being disrespectful to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar for calling her “misguided” on her policy with respect to US military operations in the Caribbean sea. Roberts said Gonsalves was “beholden to...and sounded like a PNM” because the Gonsalves’ family had received “great benefits” from the PNM. He displayed HDC documents pertaining to the sale of properties at Victoria Keyes to Eloise Gonsalves (wife), Storm Gonsalves (son) and Soleil Gonsalves (daughter).
