Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar abruptly cancelled her planned trip to Antigua and Barbuda yesterday to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The decision came just hours after the Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs issued a media release outlining the Prime Minister’s diplomatic agenda, including engagements with King Charles III and bilateral discussions with international leaders.
An official statement subsequently issued by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) confirmed that Persad-Bissessar would no longer attend the meeting, as previously announced.
