The Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) has urged citizens to remain calm and shop responsibly, assuring that there is no threat to the nation’s food supply or supermarket operations, even as the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) has been placed on high alert.
In a statement issued on Friday, SATT said its members remain well stocked, and supply chains across the country continue to function normally despite recent developments that have led to heightened security measures.
“The Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) wishes to assure the public that there is no need for rushed shopping in light of recent news reports. Our members remain well stocked, and supply chains continue to function normally,” the association said.
