RETIRED Major Roger Best, former director of the Strategic Services Agency (SSA), has pleaded not guilty to a charge of illegal ammunition possession.
Best appeared in the Arima Magistrates’ Court yesterday before Magistrate Avion Gill for the first time since being charged via a court summons late last month.
The prosecution alleges that Best was in possession of 198 rounds of 9mm ammunition, which far exceeded the 24 rounds permitted by his Firearm User’s Licence (FUL).
