A forensic autopsy has been ordered into the sudden death of 41-year-old Iyana Castanada, after suspicious bruises were discovered on her body during a preliminary examination at the Scarborough General Hospital Mortuary.
Castanada, originally from Bolai Trace, Chase Village in Trinidad, died on the night of April 11 at a residence in Top Hill, Mason Hall, Tobago, under circumstances that are now the subject of a police investigation.
According to police reports, pathologist Dr. Hubert Daisley halted the routine autopsy procedure on Wednesday after noticing bruising on Castanada’s chest and abdomen. The discovery raised concerns about the cause of death and prompted the request for a more detailed forensic examination.
