The forensic autopsy of Iyana Castanada has been delayed once more this time because the pathologist scheduled to perform it missed his flight to Tobago on Tuesday morning.
Health officials confirmed the procedure was set for that morning but said arrangements are now being made to reschedule. Castanada’s body remains at the Scarborough General Hospital mortuary, where it has been since April 11.
The 41-year-old collapsed and died at Top Hill, Mason Hall. A clinical autopsy raised concerns of possible foul play, prompting police to classify the case as a forensic matter. But with no resident forensic pathologist on the island, the delay has stretched to 32 days—stalling the investigation and leaving her family without answers.
