Record­ing an al­ter­ca­tion on his cell­phone may have led to the fa­tal stab­bing of a 28-year-old labour­er in Long­denville on Mon­day, po­lice said.

Kyle Ed­mund, of Flem­ming Street, died while re­ceiv­ing treat­ment at the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty. A 17-year-old boy was al­so in­jured dur­ing the in­ci­dent.

Po­lice were told that around 6.30 pm, Ed­mund and the teenag­er were stand­ing along Flem­ming Street, near their home, ob­serv­ing an al­ter­ca­tion be­tween a man they knew and a group of in­di­vid­u­als. Ed­mund was re­port­ed­ly record­ing the in­ci­dent on his cell­phone.
