THE Eastern Division of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has recovered 66 firearms and arrested 493 people, including 49 priority offenders, during the first half of 2026, Snr Supt Bernard Etienne has said.
Speaking during a news conference yesterday at the Police Administration Building in Port of Spain, Etienne said the division's operations continued to target priority offenders, gang activity, illegal firearms and narcotics trafficking.
He said 66 firearms had been recovered so far in 2026, compared with 100 during the corresponding period in 2025.
