Tragedy struck on the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway overnight as four people, including a young child, died in a crash near the Claxton Bay Flyover. The victims include two women, a man, and a little girl, were all pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle, a Hyundai Creta, veered off the southbound lane and flipped multiple times before landing in nearby bushes. A fifth occupant, a woman, was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital. Her condition is still unknown.
This area, near a bend at the base of a hill, is known for serious accidents. Emergency crews and investigators worked to extract bodies and piece together the details of the crash which happened in an area where crash barriers were recently installed.
