OpĀpoĀsiĀtion Leader KamĀla PerĀsad-BissesĀsar hailed the adĀvanceĀments of the SpirĀiĀtuĀal BapĀtist comĀmuĀniĀty over the last three decades.
She said while the Shouters ProĀhiĀbiĀtion OrĀdiĀnance was reĀpealed in 1951, it would be many decades latĀer unĀtil the SpirĀiĀtuĀal BapĀtist ComĀmuĀniĀty would ofĀfiĀcialĀly be grantĀed the sigĀnifĀiĀcant, symĀbolĀic hoĀnĀour of equalĀiĀty of their very own holĀiĀday, in 1996. āI reĀcall with pride that it was unĀder the 1995-2000 BasĀdeo PanĀday-led UNC GovĀernĀment, durĀing my tenure as atĀtorĀney genĀerĀal, that this moĀmenĀtous act ocĀcurred,ā PerĀsad-BissesĀsar reĀcalled.
She added, āI reĀcall with even greater pride that, unĀder my tenure as Prime MinĀisĀter (2010-2015), I furĀther opened the long-promised St BarĀbaraās SpirĀiĀtuĀal BapĀtist Shouter PriĀmaĀry School the first of its kind in Trinidad and ToĀbaĀgo and the world. InĀdeed, it will alĀways be a source of deep pride for me that the UNCās trailĀblazĀing poliĀcies over the past three decades have enĀsured that the SpirĀiĀtuĀal/Shouter BapĀtist comĀmuĀniĀty is now wideĀly recogĀnised and celĀeĀbratĀed for their imĀmense conĀtriĀbuĀtions to our naĀtionās culĀturĀal, soĀcial, and reĀliĀgious deĀvelĀopĀment.ā
