Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, has announced an immediate ban on most fetes at the Hasely Crawford Stadium and the Jean Pierre Complex.

Under the new directives, all fetes and parties at the two major sporting venues are prohibited, with a specific exception carved out for the Carnival season.

This exception will allow for events to be held from the Thursday before Carnival Monday and Tuesday until the Saturday immediately following the celebrations.
