Major road projects will be tested and audited, given that billions have been spent and hardly a good road can be found in the country, says Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
Speaking at the post-Cabinet media conference at the Red House yesterday, Persad-Bissessar said it was a shame that tens of billions of dollars have been spent over the last ten years, and yet flooding remains rampant.
“I have asked the Minister of Works and Infrastructure to request and get audited the test results for the roadworks done in Manzanilla, the Cumuto Highway extension, the Point Fortin Highway from Otaheite to La Brea, the highway widening in Chaguanas and the new O’Meara Road. We need to get results because those roads are failing or have failed,” she said.
