Ten motorists, including a Coast Guardsman and the chief executive officer of a copyright organisation, were arrested for driving under the influence during an overnight police exercise in Port of Spain on Sunday.
Police said the DUI operation was conducted between midnight and 6 a.m. Sunday along Park Street by officers of the Port of Spain Division, supported by personnel from the Capital City Patrol Unit and the Besson Street, Central and Belmont police stations, as well as the Port of Spain Municipal Police.
The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Thom, Supt Baird, Supt Revanales and ASP Cadette, who coordinated and directly supervised the operation.
