The restarting of the former steel plant at Pt Lisas will restore 644 jobs and create additional employment opportunities, United States Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau has said.
He described the project yesterday as a major win for both Trinidad and Tobago and the United States.
Initial capital investment over the next two years will amount to US$250 million, while total planned investment, including future expansion and modernisation will reach US$750 million.
