A suspect has been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred in San Juan last Friday. The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation by officers of the North Eastern Division.
Police reports state that a 57-year-old man from Point Fortin and a 45-year-old man from San Juan were targeted after responding to an online advertisement for a silver vehicle priced at $30,000. The victims arranged to meet the seller at Zaman Avenue, San Juan, around 3:15 p.m., following communication through Facebook and WhatsApp.
Upon arrival, the victims were confronted by two men. One suspect, armed with a firearm, robbed the first victim of his mobile phone, wallet, and identification documents. The second victim was robbed of his phone, ID, and a backpack containing $30,200 in cash. The suspects fled the scene on foot.
