IN HER last moments, mother of one Kalisa Danclair fought desperately for her life, trapped inside her sinking vehicle after it plunged off the collapsed Bunsee Trace Bridge into the swollen South Oropouche River in Debe on July 28.

Danclair managed to find a pocket of air in the back seat and banged on the window, alerting residents.

But despite the valiant efforts of five rescuers, including Venezuelan nationals, she could not be saved.
