Regional Chairwoman for Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo), Vania Edwards, led a team to Taushida Village to engage with community members and update them on ongoing projects within the region.
Edwards was joined by members of the Police Station and staff attached to the Regional Agriculture Department. The team engaged residents on matters relating to community safety, crime prevention, traffic awareness, domestic violence, agriculture and support for farmers and community development.
The visit also focused on strengthening the relationship between the Village Council and the people it serves, while emphasising the importance of transparency, accountability and good governance at the village level.
