A 32-year-old woman, who was charged along­side her fa­ther for mur­der­ing her moth­er four years af­ter her death was ruled to be sui­cide, has been freed.

Shas­tri Ja­groo, of McBean, Cou­va, was or­dered to be re­leased from cus­tody on Wednes­day by High Court Mas­ter Shabi­ki Caz­abon af­ter the Of­fice of the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions (DPP) of­fi­cial­ly dis­con­tin­ued the case against her. The case was al­so dis­con­tin­ued against Ja­groo’s fa­ther Se­wak, who was charged along­side her in 2018.

How­ev­er, the el­der Ja­groo, a 65-year-old labour­er from Cu­mu­to, died on Jan­u­ary 1 while on re­mand for the crime. The Ja­groos were ac­cused of mur­der­ing Es­ther Williams in 2014.
