A prison officer and a car wash businessman were killed in a tragic road accident along the Mc Bean stretch of the Southern Main Road in Couva late Monday night.

The victims have been identified as Keron Prime, a serving prison officer, and Darren Lewis, 38, the owner of Spot On Car Wash located at Chase Village.

The fatal collision occurred shortly before midnight in the area of Beucarro Village, along a section of roadway notorious for serious accidents. Reports indicate the crash involved multiple vehicles, including a Mazda 3 driven by Lewis and a Nissan Tiida in which Prime was travelling.
