SEVERAL United National Congress (UNC) members held placards on Wednesday calling for the resignation of Alderman Victor Roberts from the Siparia Borough Corporation (SBC). The group chanted, “Victor must go”, and handed over a petition to Siparia Mayor Doodnath Mayrhoo before the start of the borough’s statutory meeting.
Roberts, who was present at the corporation during the protest, told reporters that he will continue to work in the interest of the people.
“I continue to be the checks and balance in this corporation until such time when my time is up or the government dissolve and call fresh elections. Until such time I am here,” he added.
