AS the Government continues public consultations on proposed stand-your-ground legislation and easier access to legal firearms in Trinidad and Tobago, one criminologist has raised urgent concerns about the readiness of law enforcement.
Criminologist Daurius Figueira says the country is not prepared for what such a shift could mean for policing, particularly in the absence of critical safeguards like police body-worn cameras and dash cams. He is suggesting that these technologies be prioritised.
