Sea defence works advance across Region 3

President Dr Irfaan Ali has highlighted the completion and advancement of sea and river defence works at several locations across Region Three between 2025 and 2026.

In a post on his social media page, Ali shared images of works carried out at Windsor Forest, La Jalousie, Blankenburg, Den Amstel, Hague, Cornelia Ida, Anna Catherina, Groenveldt, Leonora, Viva-La-Force, La Retraite, La Grange, Zeelugt, Tuschen and Parika. The President said the images showed sea and river defence works that had been completed or advanced during 2025 and 2026.

The works are expected to support the protection of communities, agricultural lands and other infrastructure along the coast and riverbanks.
