Award-winning American actress and activist Jennifer Lewis is coming to Barbados for this year’s Marcus Garvey Day celebrations on August 17.

Programme Adviser to the Division of Youth and Culture and the Office of Pan African Affairs and Heritage, Rodney Grant, revealed that the actress will take part in a discussion on Black excellence.

Speaking during a news briefing at the Division’s headquarters at Sky Mall today, Mr Grant said the Marcus Garvey Day event will move the conversation on emancipation beyond slavery and focus on the modern-day achievements of Black people.
