FORMER travel agent Vicky Boodram, who was recently discharged from over 100 fraud-related charges, is seeking immediate bail on the single remaining count of escaping lawful custody.
Boodram, who has been held at the Women’s Prison in Arouca since 2017, appeared before Master Rehanna Hosein on Tuesday, where her legal team argued that she has already served the maximum sentence applicable to the charge.
Her attorney, Stephen Wilson of the Public Defenders Department, contended that Boodram should be granted bail without delay because the maximum custodial sentence for escaping custody under the relevant law is three years.
