POLICE and fire officers are investigating the cause of a fire that left three people, including a migrant woman, homeless on Sunday.
The house on George Street in La Romaine was rented for at least 17 years by Smith Zoey, 55, who lost his tools, electrical appliances, and possessions that were on the upper floor of the concrete and wooden structure.
Zoey said a friend of his, Jed Ali, and his Venezuelan girlfriend, whose name was not known, had occupied the ground floor, where it is believed the fire originated. Three cars parked on the road outside the house were also damaged.
