The Chinese Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago has hit back at recent criticism by US officials of Chinese technology companies, accusing Washington of political manipulation and interference in the sovereign affairs of countries in the region.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the embassy said it had noticed “negative comments” recently made by US officials and authorities about Chinese technology firms and declared that it “firmly” rejected them.
The embassy defended the presence and operations of Chinese technology companies in Trinidad and Tobago, saying they had become known for their advanced technologies, competitive pricing and secure and efficient services.
