Thirty-one-year-old Stephan Jones, otherwise called ‘Cash’, has been charged with robbery with aggravation and using a firearm to commit a scheduled offence following an incident at a shopping centre in St James on Monday, April 20. Reports from the Montego Bay police are that at 3:30 p.m., a man was conducting business at a drive-thru ATM when Jones drove up beside him, brandished a firearm, threatened him, and ordered him to enter the vehicle. Fearing for his life, the man complied. Jones then drove to another ATM, where he demanded the man’s debit card and PIN. He withdrew $90,000, from the complainant’s account before dropping the man off and fleeing the scene. The matter was reported to the police, and on July 14, Jones was apprehended during a vehicular checkpoint. On July 21, about 2:27 p.m., he was pointed out during an identification parade and was subsequently charged. He is scheduled to appear before the Western Regional Gun Court on Friday.
