OPPOSITION Leader Pennelope Beckles claims the government has fooled the population into thinking it can curb crime.
Beckles made this claim in her response to the 2025/2026 budget in the House of Representatives on October 17.
She told MPs that since the UNC won the April 28 general election, there have been 230 murders and 85 of them were committed since the state of emergency (SoE) was declared on July 18.
