Of­fi­cers of the An­ti-Kid­nap­ping Unit (AKU) have un­til 4 pm to­day to ei­ther charge or re­lease a den­tist who was ar­rest­ed last week on sus­pi­cion of re­ceiv­ing a ran­som pay­ment in con­nec­tion with the kid­nap­ping of Jankie Satie Karim.

As part of the same in­ves­ti­ga­tion, a 21-year-old woman from Matu­ra, Le­an­dro Mo­hans­ingh, was charged on Sat­ur­day evening with kid­nap­ping, false im­pris­on­ment, and ne­go­ti­at­ing a ran­som.

Karim, a moth­er of one, had van­ished af­ter be­ing kid­napped on Ju­ly 13 un­til she was found in an aban­doned beach house along the To­co Main Road in Ram­panal­gas, alive but trau­ma­tised.
