A 37-year-old Trinidadian man was shot dead on Tuesday afternoon in Cunupia following a dispute involving a child, police said.

The deceased, Andrew Morales of #83 Maloney Street, Petit Bourg, was reportedly at the home of his Venezuelan girlfriend’s grandmother around 1:45 p.m., accompanied by the woman and their 11-month-old child.

A disagreement erupted when another man, the child's father, attempted to see the child. Police said the man pulled out a firearm and shot Morales before fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
