It was the US government that requested the battleship USS Gravely’s mooring in Port of Spain according to Minister of Defence Wayne Sturge.
Sturge told international media outlet Al Jazeera today that the visit scheduled for tomorrow had been pre-planned but could not confirm when this had been done.
Of the ten strikes carried out by the US that have killed at least 43, Sturge said they were all carried out in international waters, and not in T&T territory.
