NEARLY six years after the Petrotrin oil refinery was closed, Cabinet has taken a decision with respect to the Pointe-a-Pierre facility.
Prime-minister-in-waiting and Energy Minister Stuart Young said yesterday that Nigerian energy company Oando Trading was recommended to the Cabinet by an evaluation committee as the preferred bidder for Petrotrin, and the recommendation has been accepted.
Young said the Cabinet also took a decision to advise Trinidad Petroleum Holdings Ltd (TPHL) of its non-objection of the evaluation committee’s recommendation for the sale or lease of the former refinery.
