ONLY 32.6% of public officers sought to become part of the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority (TTRA), which Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar yesterday called an “abysmal failure”.
The PM officially announced her Government’s intention to scrap the TTRA by repealing the TTRA Act, at yesterday’s post-Cabinet news conference at the Red House in Port of Spain.
Persad-Bissessar said the Government will instead focus on strengthening of the Board of Inland Revenue, including increasing the number of commissioners.
