$33m in RDC contracts under audit

Rural Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago (RDC) chairman Raees Patel says full audits have been launched into roughly $33 million in contracts awarded before the change in government to companies allegedly linked through common owners or directors.

Patel said RDC records have identified the contracts as the company’s new leadership looks deeper into procurement and administrative practices inherited from the previous management.

He said concerns surrounding some of the corporate relationships had previously been raised publicly, including in Parliament.
