KINGTON, Jamaica — A passenger who earlier on Monday experienced breathing difficulties while travelling on a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus which traverses the Mandeville to Kingston route has died and the state-owned company has extended condolences to the victim’s family.
JUTC in a statement said the passenger experienced a medical emergency while travelling aboard Route 512. It said that during the journey, a passenger alerted the driver that another commuter was experiencing difficulty breathing.
“Upon receiving the report, the driver immediately assessed the situation and, prioritising the passenger’s wellbeing, diverted the bus toward the nearest hospital to seek urgent medical assistance,” JUTC said.
