More than 14,000 dead electors have been struck off Jamaica’s voters’ list as part of its latest update to the register of electors.
In a statement yesterday, the Electoral office of Jamaica (EOJ) said a total of 15,161 names were removed from the voters’ list published on May 31. Of those, 14,363 were confirmed to be deceased electors.
The EOJ said the update was made possible largely through information provided by the Office of the Registrar General, along with data from other official sources and stakeholders.
