A disturbing video showing the body of a young woman found murdered in Carlsen Field has sparked widespread outrage across Trinidad and Tobago, as citizens call for greater sensitivity and restraint on social media.
The victim has been identified as Savanna Dyer, of Diego Martin, who was reportedly last seen on Friday night liming with friends. Just hours later, on Saturday morning, her body was discovered off a roadway near the Praedial Larceny Unit’s office in Carlsen Field, Chaguanas.
Dyer’s body bore wounds to the head, and she was still dressed in the same outfit she had worn in a video posted to her WhatsApp status the previous evening. That video, meant for friends, would later be tragically contrasted with another, one not of her smiling and alive, but of her lifeless body, lying roadside with her underwear exposed and legs splayed.
