WALK the remote south Trinidad coastline towards Icacos Point, and you will find things brought to its shore by man and by nature.

Just west of Galfa Point, standing in the sea like a sci-fi monument, is the debris of the boosters jettisoned from the rockets launched from the space centre in French Guiana on the continent within sight.

Scattered along the shore is fool’s gold, pyrite spat from the mud volcanoes that erupted out at sea.
