Former Permanent Representative to the United Nations and UNC MP Rodney Charles is urging the Government to seek legal advice on Trinidad and Tobago’s potential exposure to investigations into the Trump administration’s actions, following the Democrats’ victory in the United States midterm elections.
In a statement sent to Guardian Media, Charles warned that congressional investigations into the bombing of suspected drug vessels in Caribbean waters and the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro could raise questions about this country’s involvement.
Democrats have won control of both the House of Representatives and Senate, giving them the power to investigate President Donald Trump’s administration and block his legislative agenda and appointments.
